John Pelan lives in Seattle with his wife, Kathy. There, they run Silver Salamander/Midnight House/Darkside Press. Author, editor, publisher, John Pelan is the author of AN ANTIQUE VINTAGE from Gargadillo Publishing. His first short story collection, DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND is forthcoming from Shadowlands Press. With Edward Lee, he is co-author of GOON, SHIFTERS, SPLATTERSPUNK, FAMILY TRADITION and numerous short stories. John's solo stories have appeared in The Urbanite, Gothic.net, Enigmatic Tales, Carpe Noctem, Horrorfind.com and numerous anthologies. One of the foremost historians of the horror genre, John has edited single-author collections and novels by Louisa Baldwin, Keith Fleming, Fritz Leiber, and Clive Pemberton, for Ash-Tree Press, Sarob Press, and Midnight House. As an editor John has assembled DARKSIDE and THE DARKER SIDE for ROC and CHILDREN OF CTHULHU for Del Rey books as well as the Clark Ashton Smith tribute anthology, THE LAST CONTINENT: NEW TALES OF ZOTHIQUE for Shadowlands Press. He is currently working on several new anthologies and editing the complete supernatural fiction of Manly Wade Wellman for Night Shade Books and four volumes of Fritz Leiber stories and a half-dozen novels by Mark Hansom for Midnight House. His first solo novel languishes uncompleted, a victim of too many editorial projects... |
